Message in a Bottle ("Company") protects users' personal information in accordance with applicable laws, including the Personal Information Protection Act. The Company wishes to collect and use personal information as described below. Please read the following carefully before deciding whether to consent.
1. Personal Information Collected

2. Purpose of Collection and Use
- Member identification, verification of intent to register, and identity verification
- Provision of the Service, including registering, discovering, and replying to location-based messages (bottles)
- Prevention of fraudulent use and unauthorized access
- Statistical analysis of service usage and service improvement
- Delivery of notices and handling of inquiries
3. Retention and Use Period
- In principle, the Company destroys personal information without delay upon a member's withdrawal.
- However, where retention is required by applicable laws, the Company retains the information for the following periods:
- Records on contracts or withdrawal of subscription: 5 years
- Records on consumer complaints or dispute resolution: 3 years
- Access logs and other communication-fact confirmation data: 3 months
4. Right to Refuse Consent and Consequences
Users have the right to refuse consent to the collection and use of personal information. However, if consent to required items is refused, use of the Service, including membership registration and registering or replying to messages, may be restricted.
5. Provision to Third Parties
The Company does not use users' personal information beyond the scope disclosed in this consent form, nor does it provide such information to third parties. Exceptions apply where required by law or upon a lawful request from an investigative authority.
6. Outsourcing of Processing
The Company may outsource the processing of personal information to external specialized providers for the smooth provision of the Service. In such cases, the Company will disclose the trustee and the scope of the outsourced work through this consent form or the privacy policy.
7. Rights of Users
Users may at any time access, correct, or delete their personal information, or request that its processing be suspended. Users may also withdraw their consent to the collection and use of personal information by withdrawing their membership.
