Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between Message in a Bottle ("Company") and the personal location information subject in connection with the location-based services provided by the Company.

Article 2 (Effect and Amendment of the Terms)

1. These Terms take effect upon agreement by a user who wishes to use the location-based services.
2. The Company may amend these Terms within the scope that does not violate applicable laws, including the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information.

Article 3 (Contents of the Service)

The Company provides the following location-based services:

1. Displaying messages (bottles) registered nearby on a map based on the user's current location
2. Allowing a user to register a message (bottle) at their current location
3. Discovering and replying to messages registered by other users near the user's location

Article 4 (Use or Provision of Personal Location Information)

1. Where the Company intends to provide location-based services using personal location information, it specifies the relevant details in these Terms.
2. The Company does not provide personal location information to third parties without the consent of the personal location information subject. Where provision to a third party is necessary, the Company will notify the recipient and the purpose in advance and obtain consent.
3. The Company uses personal location information only to the extent necessary to provide the location-based services and destroys it without delay once that purpose is achieved.

Article 5 (Retention and Use Period of Personal Location Information)

1. The Company uses personal location information only temporarily to provide the location-based services, and as a rule destroys it immediately after the service is provided.
2. However, pursuant to Article 16(2) of the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information, the Company automatically records and retains data confirming the use and provision of location information for a period of 6 months.

Article 6 (Rights of the Personal Location Information Subject)

1. The personal location information subject may at any time withdraw all or part of their consent to the use and provision of personal location information.
2. The personal location information subject may at any time request the temporary suspension of the use and provision of personal location information, and the Company shall not refuse such a request.
3. The personal location information subject may request the Company to provide access to or notification of the following data, and may request correction of any errors in such data:
   • Data confirming the use and provision of location information regarding the subject
   • The reasons for and contents of any provision of the subject's personal location information to a third party

Article 7 (Rights of Legal Guardians)

Where the Company intends to use or provide the personal location information of a child under the age of 14, it must obtain the consent of both the child and their legal guardian.

Article 8 (Location Information Manager)

The Company designates and operates a Location Information Manager to properly manage and protect location information and to smoothly handle complaints from personal location information subjects.

Article 9 (Damages and Disclaimer)

A user who suffers damage due to the Company's violation of these Terms or applicable laws may claim damages from the Company. However, the Company is exempt from liability in the absence of intent or negligence on its part.
